While working for a studio such as Marvel Studios isn’t ideal for some directors, Taika Waititi revealed in a new interview with Radio Times that he enjoyed working with the entertainment giant, citing them as collaborative while willing to let him fulfill his own vision.
“I would like to come back and work with Marvel any time, because I think they’re a fantastic studio, and we had a great time working together,” Waititi shared. “And they were very supportive of me, and my vision.”

Although the studio currently has no plans for a fourth Thor film — at least, not one with Hemsworth in the titular role — it would seem the director is more than willing to jump back in the director’s chair should Thor 4 happen. “I’d love to do another Thor film, because I feel like I’ve established a really great thing with these guys, and friendship,” he explained. “And I don’t really like any of the other characters.”
As of right now, Marvel Studios has yet to turn any of their franchises — outside of the Avengers — into quadrilogies, so it’s more than likely this is the last Thor film with Hemsworth in the role, as contracts are set to expire for some of the core cast following the untitled fourth Avengers film. If that happens to be the case and Waititi doesn’t get to return for another film, he’s proud to go out with Ragnarok and the cast of fantastic actors he assembled. “For me, it’s just so nice working with people who are just nice, and want to come and do a good job and have a good laugh on set.”
Arriving November 3, director Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
