“Bad is in full swing” on the first official poster for Harley Quinn Season 3, which premieres on HBO Max later this month.
HBO Max has revealed the first official poster for the long-awaited third season of DC’s adult animated series Harley Quinn.
Featuring the tagline “Bad is in full swing,” the poster finds the power couple of Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) and Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) — known collectively as “HarlIvy” — swinging against the backdrop of a whimsical forest. Numerous characters are seen spying on the couple from the surrounding area, including Clayface (Alan Tudyk), Batman (Diedrich Bader), Jim Gordon (Christopher Meloni) and Bane (James Adomian). The only characters not making an effort to hide are Frank the Plant (J.B. Smoove) and King Shark (Ron Funches), the latter of whom is actually pushing Harley and Ivy on the swing.
Harley Quinn premiered on the now-defunct DC Universe streaming service in November 2019. The show’s first season concluded in February 2020. Harley Quinn soon returned for a second season, which ran from April 2020 to June 2020. Amid the restructuring of DC Universe, Harley Quinn Seasons 1 and 2 were added to HBO Max in August 2020. In September 2020, HBO Max officially renewed Harley Quinn for a third season, which is finally slated to hit the platform later this month.
The Wait Is Almost Over
While it’s been over two years since Harley Quinn Season 2 wrapped up, fans of the show haven’t been entirely without new material. Harley Quinn: The Animated Series: The Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour — a six-part comic book limited series set between the events of Seasons 2 and 3 — launched digitally in August 2021 before getting a print release the following month. The sixth and final issue released digitally this past January and physically in February.
As for Season 3 itself, an official synopsis reads as follows: “The mayhem and madness continue in season three of this biting and uproarious adult animated comedy series,. Wrapping up their ‘Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour,’ Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy return to Gotham as the new power couple of DC villainy. Along with their ragtag crew — King Shark, Clayface, Frank the Plant — “Harlivy” strives to become the best version of themselves while also working towards Ivy’s long desired plan of transforming Gotham into an Eden paradise.”
Harley Quinn Season 3 premieres Thursday, July 28 on HBO Max.
