Deadpool Defeats Wanda in Bloody Doctor Strange 2 Fan Edit

A silly and sick fan edit for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool take down Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch.

While it may take some time for Deadpool to arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a comical and gory fan edit for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees Ryan Reynolds’ Merc With a Mouth do what the Illuminati could not and take down the Scarlet Witch.

Shared by YouTube creator Mightyraccoon!, the video starts with Deadpool appearing in the place of Mister Fantastic of the Fantastic Four during the scene where Doctor Strange meets the Illuminati. Later, as select Illuminati members, including Reed Richards, meet Scarlet Witch, the Regenerating Degenerate sneaks up behind Wanda Maximoff and decapitates her.

Interestingly, prior to the release of the video, Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron confirmed that while Deadpool wouldn’t be in the film, the idea to have him in the film was discussed. However, Multiverse of Madness “just didn’t feel the right place” for the character’s MCU debut. As for Scarlet Witch, the former Avenger being Multiverse of Madness‘ villain has caused controversy among fans, though Waldron has defended this idea, tying it into Disney+’s WandaVision. “My interpretation of WandaVision is that she confronts her grief and she lets go of the people she has under her control, but I don’t think she necessarily resolves her grief in that show, and I don’t think she resolves her anger,” he noted. “Maybe she’s able to say goodbye to Vision, but I think she’s really just fallen in love with [Billy and Tommy].”

Waldron added that he thought WandaVision‘s loose ends were “the things that the Darkhold preys on” when Scarlet Witch got it from Agatha Harkness. “You see in the final scene of WandaVision, that tag — the mistake that our Wanda makes is she opens the Darkhold,” continued Waldron. “She starts reading, and I think it preys on her desire to have those children and have them for real this time. So yeah, that was how I arrived there. It made sense to me and it made sense to our teams because we built the story.”

Wanda’s actor, Elizabeth Olsen, was also fine with Scarlet Witch becoming an antagonist. “I am [satisfied]. I think somehow it needed to end where it ends at some point, and I’m curious about where we go from there,” she said. Additionally, while Multiverse of Madness ends with her possible death, Olsen said she thinks she would be willing to reprise her role for a Scarlet Witch movie, on the condition that it’s a good story.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is streaming on Disney+ now.
