An official preview for X-Men ’92: House of XCII #2 gives Marvel fans a peek into the many lives of Jubilee.
The sophomore issue of House of XCII is set to hit comic shops this coming Wednesday, June 1, from writer Steve Foxe, artist Salva Espin, colorist Israel Silva and letterer Joe Sabino. Following issue #1’s revelation that X-Men: The Animated Series‘ version of Jubilation Lee/Jubilee has actually lived and died multiple times, the preview pages for issue #2 offer a bit of insight into how exactly she’s lived her various lives. Jubilee reaches the unfortunate conclusion that despite her best efforts, the mutant-hunting Sentinels always kill her in the end.

House of XCII re-imagines Marvel Comics’ House of X storyline within the context of X-Men: The Animated Series, with the mutants of Earth-92131 forming their own version of the nation of Krakoa. As revealed in House of XCII #1, Jubilee — in addition to having her usual, explosive mutant ability — is essentially this universe’s version of Moira X, as whenever she dies, she is reborn. This is a game-changer, as it effectively recontextualizes the entirety of The Animated Series.
However, after being killed during a Sentinel attack on the Xavier Institute, Jubilee is now on her 10th life, which she fears may be her last. Furthermore, as much as it pains her, Jubilee has opted to keep her most recent resurrection a secret from her friends, as her supposed death still serves as a major motivating factor for the X-Men.
Written by Steve Foxe, illustrated by Salva Espin, colored by Israel Silva and lettered by VC’s Joe Sabino, X-Men ’92: House of XCII #2 goes on sale June 1 from Marvel Comics.
