Iris West Cameo Reportedly Cut

Kiersey Clemons was cast as Iris West in the DC Extended Universe months ago, but it seems as if we’ll have to wait for some time before we see her take on the role. Clemons was set to debut her take on the love of Barry Allen’s life in November’s Justice League, but a new report suggests she was cut from the ensemble movie, delaying her first appearance until the Flashpoint film.

An exclusive report from Batman News reveals the news, which isn’t entirely surprising since Joss Whedon has taken over the movie to bring his own take on DC Comics’ most popular superhero team. Another character that was cut from the movie is Lex Luthor, who was played by Jesse Eisenberg in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

In August, Clemons discussed her time on the set of Justice League. “The parts that I did introducing Iris are f*cking sick. I can’t wait to see the movie. I’m so happy that I’ve been introduced to this genre because I didn’t really have any type of desire to be a part of any superhero world. And then I stepped on the set of Justice League and I was like, ‘Holy sh*t. Alright!’”

There’s still a chance we’ll see Clemons and Eisenberg in Justice League if there’s a director’s cut of the film when it’s released on DVD and Blu-ray. Both Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman received an Ultimate Edition with more scenes than the theatrical cut. Either way, expect Iris West to play a significant part in the upcoming Flashpoint film.

Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash — it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
