The upcoming live action film adaptation of Kosuke Oono’s comedy manga The Way of the Househusband has released a teaser trailer and two poster visuals!
While the posters focus on Hiroki Tamashi ( live action Nodame Cantabile ) as the titular yakuza-turned-househusband Tatsu, the trailer also features characters like his career-focused wife Miku, played by Haruna Kawaguchi (live action Ouran High School Host Club drama).
Titled The Way of the Househusband: The Cinema, the film follows former yakuza boss Tatsu. Once known as the “immortal dragon,” he retired from life as a gangster to become a doting househusband and support his wife Miku with her career.
Tamashi and Kawaguchi are reprising their roles from the 2020 live action drama, which was followed by another live action adaptation by Netflix in 2021, titled The Ingenuity of the Househuband. Netflix also adapted the manga into an original net animation in 2021.
The Way of the Househusband: The Cinema opens in Japan in summer 2022.
