DC Comics has revealed the official solicit for the second and final volume of its oversized Absolute Edition of Jack Kirby’s Fourth World epic.
Following Absolute Fourth World by Jack Kirby Vol. 1 — which released over the summer of 2020 — Absolute Fourth World by Jack Kirby Vol. 2 is slated to go on sale later this year on Dec. 14. The 824-page hardcover retails for $150 and features a cover and slipcase by Rian Hughes with spot art by Kirby himself.
Absolute Fourth World by Jack Kirby Vol. 2 collects Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #146-148, The Forever People #7-11, The New Gods #7-11, Mister Miracle #7-18, Jack Kirby’s New Gods (Reprint Series) #6, DC Graphic Novel #4: The Hunger Dogs and Kirby’s lost story “On the Road to Armagetto,” which is being “published at full size for the first time ever.” It also includes a new foreword by Tom Scioli, a gallery of pencil artwork by Kirby and “never-before-collected” essays by Kirby and Mark Evanier.
Written and illustrated by Jack Kirby with inks by Mike Royer and others, Absolute Fourth World by Jack Kirby Vol. 2 goes on sale Dec. 14 from DC Comics. The full solicitation information, as well as a mock-up of Rian Hughes’s cover and slipcase, can be found below.
