The latest television spot for the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok introduces audiences to the name of the team Thor and the Bruce Banner are assembling in the film to fight Hela and win back Asgard from the Norse god of death – the Revengers. Don’t worry. The duo seem to be just as unsure of the name after briefly being grilled by Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie.
The video kicks off with Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster doing his best impersonation of a wrestling announcer as a gladiatorial fight is just about to get started. The spot also teases action scenes new and old in its build towards the big reveal.

The team shares its name with another from Marvel Comics lore. The Revengers were introduced in New Avengers Annual Vol. 2 #1 as an alternative to the Avengers after several superheroes become disillusioned with the team. Several other alternate-dimension versions of the Revengers exist, but it would seem as though Thor: Ragnarok is going for a more literal interpretation of the name. As in, the team Thor and Banner are assembling might just be out for revenge (with a little casual wordplay thrown in).
Debuting in theaters on Nov. 3, Thor: Ragnarok is a production of Marvel Studios directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.
