The X-Men have some rules that can’t be broken, and what one mutant did in Captain America may have just earned them a death sentence on Krakoa.

Captain America just wrapped up part of the battle against the Power Elite when his team took down Selene.
The story saw a series of villains building a faction of power brokers, each set up in different spots on the planet. Selene worked with Red Skull, Wilson Fisk and more as she built her power base in a small town where she fed on American males who missed the Hydra-ran United States. There is no telling how many people died at her hands.
That is where the problem lies. Selene is a mutant, and she was part of the mutant forces that battled to save Earth in Empyre. However, as a result of this, Selene lives by the laws of Krakoa. These three laws are to respect the sacred land, murder no man, and make more mutants. Throughout the entire Captain America storyline, Selene broke one of these laws repeatedly, as there is no telling how many men Selene killed to maintain her youth.
Some readers seemed to think that the events of this story and the current X-Men events in Krakoa were not in the same timeframe. It turns out this battle is at the same time as Selene now has to answer to the Quiet Council of Krakoa for her role in the murder of countless men.
Iron Patriot was able to make Selene so angry that she lost control and burned all the energy she took from the men in the town — aging instantly. When Shuri asked her how many men she devoured there, Selene said “legions,” which was not smart. After this, Shuri noted, “there is a council in Krakoa that would very much like a word with you.”
This statement is not good news for Selene. The Quiet Council has shown great restraint when it comes to mutants living on the island. People have done terrible things, and the Quiet Council has forgiven them and brought them back using the Resurrection Protocol. There are only rare cases where the Quiet Council has delivered its ultimate punishment. Recently, the council refused to resurrect Madelyne Pryor based on their ruling that she was not a real mutant and was just a clone. However, there was also a case where the council showed what they would do to someone who broke one of the three rules.
