Psycho-Pass Creator’s Obsolete Confirms Dec. 3 Release!



Obsolete, a YouTube Original anime created by Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Psycho-Pass ‘s Urobuchi Gen, has confirmed that it will begin streaming via the service on Dec. 3.

It was also announced that prominent American artist Skrillex and Dutch musician Nik Roos will perform the opening theme, “obsolete”, with Japanese unit Technoboys Pulcraft Green-Fund performing the ending theme, “Orb-Solution”.

Newly confirmed staff includes Ishiwata Makoto of Nitroplus for mecha design, and Yoshida Akihito and Nagai Yuya of CyDesignation for character design. Several most cast members were also confirmed: Tanaka Masahiko as Bowman, Morikawa Toshiyuki as Miyajima, Yamanoi Jin as Loewner, Takagi Wataru as Fernando, and Otomo Ryuzaburo as Zahir.

A completely original CG anime, Obsolete is set in a world where aliens have made contact with humanity in 2014 for trade. In exchange for limestone, the aliens offer self-aware robots known as Exoframes. Cheaper than aircraft, tanks, or guns, and easily operable by anyone, Exoframe technology is set to change the world…

Obsolete streams via Bandai Namco Arts Channel on YouTube from 8:00 pm JST on Dec. 3.
