With only a few days to go until its release, Square Enix has begun streaming an exciting 2 minute Kingdom Hearts III commercial featuring Sora, Donald, Goofy, Mickey and the rest of the crew!
The commercial was first launched during a TV Asahi broadcast about the AFC Asian Cup’s Japan x Uzbekistan match. As well as the many Disney and Pixar characters that fans will be able to greet in the Kingdom Hearts universe, it also featured the Japanese ending theme, “Chikai” by J-pop icon Utada Hikaru. Utada also performs the English version “Don’t Think Twice” and is collaborating with musician Skrillex and record producer Poo Bear for the opening theme, “Face My Fears”.
An immersive roleplaying game brought to life by Square Enix and Disney Interactive, Kingdom Hearts first released in Mar. 2002 for PS2. Kingdom Hearts II followed in Dec. 2005, with numerous spinoff and prequel titles also created.
The story follows a teenager named Sora, who happily lived on Destiny Islands with his best friends Kairi and Riku until dark creatures called the Heartless ruined his homeworld and separated them. Joined by Donald Duck and Goofy, who had been on their own search for King Mickey, he sets off on an adventure through various worlds that are home to some of the most famous characters and franchises from Disney and Pixar.
Kingdom Hearts III will be released on Jan. 25 in Japan and on Jan. 29 worldwide for PS4 and Xbox One.
