Find Gunpla Heaven at Gundam Base Tokyo! [Photo Report]


The Gundam Base Tokyo opened to grand fanfare in Odaiba on August 19th! It’s definitely the ultimate base for all Gunpla fans, with over 1,500 past models and a large number of limited edition kits available. This huge space is split up into three areas: the Shop Zone, the Factory Zone, and the Builders Zone, all designed to please any Gunpla fan!

We were lucky to get a sneak peek before the grand opening of the shop.

There’s plenty to see in The Gundam Base Tokyo, including exhibits showing upcoming Gunpla that are not yet on sale! It’s a perfect place to plan the future of your collection.

There are also limited-edition products that you can only find here, at The Gundam Base Tokyo!

There’s also a section dedicated to the Gundam Build Fighters series! You can find current figures and upcoming additions to the series in this area.

Even the life-size statues are holding Gunpla! Why not take a similar photo yourself?

Regular edition items are also on display and they’re all available for purchase. The display is set up so you can see exactly what you can make with the parts included in that particular box!

You can learn about the history of Gunpla and the technology used to make them in a special exhibit, and check out a mechanical diorama of the Gunpla factory in Shizuoka.

You can’t miss the masterpieces assembled by world-famous Gunpla builders! Maybe you’ll find some inspiration for your next creation after seeing their work.

There are plans for Gunpla customizing classes as well as contests to be implemented in the near future!

You can also see a few customized kits on display to get an idea of how people innovate with their Gunpla.

The Gundam Base Tokyo even has a building room available for use! Anyone can assemble their newly purchased kits right on the spot, and beginners can even get help from Gunpla experts.
