This corroborates with earlier reports from June that LucasFilm was eying a filming start date of Fall 2018 for a series premiere sometime in late 2019.

Details on the ten-episode first season are currently under wraps but the story is rumored to be following the Mandalore Empire between the events of 1983’s Return of the Jedi and 2015’s The Force Awakens. The Mandalorians are the franchise’s no-nonsense warrior race that includes iconic bounty hunters Jango and Boba Fett.

The currently untitled Star Wars live-action series created by Jon Favreau does not currently have a release date or announced cast but is expected to premiere on Disney’s upcoming premium streaming service sometime in late 2019.
