A new key visual for the upcoming game Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress -Ran- Hajimaru Michiato has been released to celebrate receiving over 100,000 pre-registrations!
The game, which is developed by both TriFort and DMM GAMES, is scheduled to release sometime before the end of the year and will be accessible on PC, Android, and iOS. The story will act as a sequel to the TV anime series, which premiered on Fuji-TV in Apr. 2016.
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress -Ran- Hajimaru Michiato also received attention at the Tokyo Game Show 2018, which ran from Sept. 20 to Sept. 23. During a stage event, Wit Studios streamed the game’s opening, revealing an expanded world with characters both familiar and new.
Currently, a campaign is rewarding future players with rewards based on the number of pre-registrations. Aside from gifting bonus amounts of the in-game currency (“Kagachi”), characters that have appeared in the TV anime series have also been promised. Takumi has already been unlocked since the pre-registrations exceeded 100,000. After 300,000, the handsome antagonist Biba will also be unlocked.
The game is based on Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, an anime by Wit Studio. Set in a world where humans must protect themselves from corpses transformed by a virus into undead creatures called Kabane, the original series follows a young man named Ikoma who becomes a Kabaneri – a half-human, half-Kabane hybrid. An anime film titled Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato is set to premiere in Spring 2019, so players can also look forward to tie-in events, items, and characters.
