If you’ve already decided on your to-watch for sequel anime and now you’re stuck on which new anime to look out for, just keep reading for some of fall’s most anticipated titles!

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

Oct. 2 will bring Fuse’ light novel series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and its unfortunate protagonist Rimuru to the world of anime. After suffering a sudden death as a human, Mikami Satoru is given another chance at life… but in the form of a Powerful Slime, setting the stage for all sorts of shenanigans in a fantasy world.

Based on Niantic’s augmented reality smartphone game Ingress, this anime will premiere on Oct. 18 with an original plot about a special police investigator named Makoto, who is gifted with the power to read the memory of objects by touching them. After encountering Sarah, who has lost her memories in a horrific explosion, and Jack, a mysterious man who is pursuing her, Makoto finds himself caught up in a huge conspiracy.

Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai

Originally a light novel series written by Kamoshida Hajime and illustrated by Mizoguchi Keeji, the Seishun Buta Yarou anime adaptation will be coming to TV screens starting Oct. 4. The romantic comedy stars high school student Azusagawa Sakuta, who has a strange encounter with a bunny girl and goes on to meet several girls dealing with “puberty syndrome,” a phenomenon supposedly caused by mental instability. Fans can also look forward to an anime movie set to premiere in 2019, which will adapt two titles from the original series.

Double Decker! Doug & Kirill

As the latest project in Sunrise’s Tiger & Bunny franchise, Double Decker will be bringing back the buddy cop dynamic in veteran detective Doug and newbie Kirill as they team up to crack down on a highly dangerous drug called “Anthem.” It’s separate from Tiger & Bunny, but some staff have returned, such as Suzuki Tomohiro for series composition and Katsura Masakazu for character design. While broadcasts officially begin on Sept. 30, the first episode has already been released in Japan on YouTube and on Crunchyroll for other countries.

Kagyu Kumo’s light novel series of the same name gets its first anime this fall from Oct. 7 after a number of manga and drama CD adaptations. Set in a fantasy world, the story follows an adventurer who hunts and kills just one kind of prey – goblins, the weakest species of all monsters. Despite its RPG-esque setting, Goblin Slayer depicts the issues that stem from goblins in a surprisingly realistic way.

Originally created by Nakatani Nio, the anime adaptation of yuri manga Yagate Kimi ni Naru is set to premiere on Oct. 5. The story is centered around Koito Yu, a high school girl who, despite her passion for shoujo manga, felt nothing when receiving a confession of love. After meeting Nanami Touko, the school’s student council president who has had similar experiences, Yu is surprised to be the subject of Touko’s first confession.

Ore ga Suki nano wa Imouto dakedo Imouto ja Nai

Another series for the little sister-themed light novel-turned-anime category is Ore ga Suki nano wa Imōto dakedo Imōto ja nai, originally written by Ebisu Seiji and illustrated by Gintarou. From Oct. 10, say hello to Nagami Yu, a decidedly average 15-year-old who is overshadowed by his talented little sister, Suzuka. After the latter wins a light novel contest, Yu ends up debuting as an author by the name of Towano Chikai in her place, setting the stage for all sorts of little sister-related shenanigans.

Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara

Having gained recognition for its work on titles like Angel Beats! and Shirobako, animation studio P.A.Works is bringing its next original anime out on Oct. 5. Set in Nagasaki, the story follows 17-year-old Tsukishiro Hitomi in a world where some magic remains. Although she is descended from a long line of witches, she lost her sense of color at an early age and grew up with only a shallow capacity for human emotion. Worried for her future, Hitomi’s grandmother sends her back in time to 2018.

Almost ten years after the end of its manga adaptation plus its live action movie and stage play premiere, Miura Shion’s work is now set to make its anime debut on Oct. 3. Another work that sports anime fans can look out for, it focusses on ekiden, a long-distance race where runners compete in teams. The story begins from a chance meeting, with ekiden team captain Haiji scouting first-year university student named Kakeru after witnessing the latter running.

Oct. 6 marks the anime debut of Kaneda Yousuke’s on the classic story of two star-crossed lovers. Inuzuka Romio and Juliet Persia are two students at Grigio Academy Boarding School who must hide their relationship due to the rivalry between their home countries.

With this year’s fall anime approaching fast, make sure not to miss out on those you might be interested in! Can you think of any other titles you’re looking for out for?
