The series was renewed for its fifth season this past May prior to its Season 4 finale with a shortened episode order of ten new episodes.
The upcoming season is expected to pick up after the events of the fourth season finale left the titular city devastated and isolated from the rest of the country by a series of bombs. Combining the classic Batman story “No Man’s Land” as well as the more recent Scott Snyder/Greg Capullo story “Zero Year”, the final season will see Bruce Wayne embrace his destiny as the city’s protector while the villainous Bane makes his arrival.

It is scheduled to return on Fox for its fifth and final season on March 15, 2019.
