österreich, a solo project by guitarist Takahashi Kunimitsu, will be performing the ending theme song for Season 2 of Tokyo Ghoul:re!
Titled “Rakuen no Kimi”, this song marks the third time that Takahashi has collaborated with the franchise after “Muno”, the opening theme for Tokyo Ghoul √A, and “Zeitaku na Hone”, the main title theme for PS Vita game Tokyo Ghoul JAIL.
Speaking about the new track, Takahashi expressed his gratitude to the manga’s author Ishida Sui for his friendship and the opportunity to compose “Rakuen no Kimi”, which was inspired by all the people that help you to get through life’s difficult moments.
Tokyo Ghoul:re is the sequel to Ishida’s original manga and picks up two years later with the CCG still trying to limit the Ghoul threat in the city. Their latest tactic in the fight is an experimental treatment in which investigators are given Ghoul powers. Sasaki Haise is the leader of the so-called “Quinx” squad, but struggles to keep his troublesome team together as they try to come to terms with their new powers.
Tokyo Ghoul:re is slated to begin broadcasts in Oct. 2018.
