After a bit of creative shuffling behind-the-scenes, DC Universe’s upcoming Swamp Thing series has officially signed on a director for its pilot episode.
Len Wiseman, who co-created Sleepy Hollow and serves as an executive producer on The Gifted, will direct the upcoming DC Comics’s adaptation and also executive produce the horror series.

Wiseman, who first broke into the Hollywood mainstream by directing 2003’s Underworld developing the upcoming Die Hard prequeland is currently , was first linked to the helming the pilot for DC Universe’s latest original series last week from a script written by Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman.
Developed exclusively for DC’s upcoming premium streaming service, series co-creator James Wan and Buffy the Vampire Slayer director Deran Sarafian were both rumored to co-direct the first episode before the reports were ultimately debunked.

With Wiseman having previously directed horror for both the small and big screen, the upcoming adaptation is sure to be more supernaturally sinister than any other DCTV series.
Executive produced by James Wan, Mark Verheiden, Gary Dauberman, and Michael Clear, Swamp Thing is expected to premiere on DC Universe sometime in 2019.
