Maron, De Niro’s Joker Movie Roles Reportedly Revealed

After weeks of speculation, Robert De Niro and Marc Maron’s roles have been reportedly confirmed for Todd Phillips’ Joker origin film.

As previously rumored, De Niro will be playing a late night talk show host while Maron will portray the show’s producer handling the booking of guests to appear on the late night program. Joaquin Phoenix’s failed standup comedian is expected to make an appearance on the show that is sure to end in public humiliation for the future DC supervillain.

Reports also indicate that Maron’s currently unnamed character is not expected to have a particularly large role in the upcoming prequel and will largely appear in scenes alongside De Niro.

With the film expected to begin principal photography in New York City in a matter of weeks, it will interesting to see how both characters impact Phoenix’s title character on his infamous trajectory to becoming the most iconic villain in the DC Comics library.
