Crowdfunding has started for Otaku House, a guest house aimed where visitors can stay at while experiencing Japanese content like manga, anime, video games, and cosplay!
Launched by Tomiyama Kazuki, the CEO of game localization and distribution company Southworks, the project states that Otaku House will ideally be located in Akihabara (for obvious reasons).
The location will feature four main facilities for otaku guests: a capsule-style bedroom where you can enjoy your favorite anime and manga while unwinding after a long day of exploring, a shared living room where you can watch and read manga and anime to your heart’s content, a cosplay room, and a VR room.
At present, crowdfunding is planned to be spread over four projects in total up until December. The current one is aimed at securing a location and lasts until Sept. 22 with a goal of 5 million yen. The project schedule also states that preparations for its Spring 2019 opening will begin in October.
Plenty of rewards have been revealed for backers, including original stickers and postcards, an Otaku House original T-shirt and an original manga, as well as tickets that can be redeemed for actual experiences at Otaku House.
