Lee Pace Teases His MCU Return With New Video

Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel has long since wrapped production, but we’ve yet to get our first look at the hero’s forthcoming solo flick. That hasn’t stopped actor Lee Pace from teasing his Marvel Cinematic Universe return in the project, though.

Pace, who isn’t as active on social media these days, posted a rare video on Saturday morning with him sporting a Captain Marvel cast and crew hat along with a rocket emoji — an actual rocket, not Rocket Raccoon — and tagged both Captain Marvel and Marvel on Twitter. It’s a short clip, one in which the actor doesn’t say a single word, but it’s the first he’s posted regarding Ronan’s return since it was initially confirmed earlier this year.

Pace made his MCU debut as Ronan the Accuser in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy where he met his demise following an epic dance-off with Star-Lord, that resulted in the Guardians securing the power stone. He’ll be joining fellow Guardians actor Djimon Hounsou, who is also set to reprise his role in Captain Marvel.

Despite wrapping back in July, Marvel Studios has yet to release a teaser trailer and/or first look at the forthcoming film. At the time, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige suggested fans would have to wait a bit before a trailer was released. Could a first look (finally) be on the way? That, of course, remains to be seen, but it’s hard not to get excited knowing that Carol Danvers’ MCU debut isn’t that far off now.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, and Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Algenis Perez Soto, McKenna Grace and Annette Bening in as-yet-undisclosed roles. The film arrives March 8, 2019.
