It was quite a long time ago that Marvel announced that Star Trek Into Darkness co-star Alice Eve would be joining the cast of Iron Fist Season 2 as the series’ latest villain. However, while there was much speculation, there was a lot of secrecy surrounding the role and Marvel wasn’t ready to confirm anything just yet. Finally, during last July’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, it was revealed that the actress would be playing Marvel Comics villain Mary Walker, aka Typhoid Mary.
While there have been a few promos and one full-length trailer released during the Iron Fist Season 2 marketing campaign, we have only gotten very brief glimpses of Eve’s character in action. That doesn’t appear to be for nothing: the actress recently said the season would work as a sort of origin story for her character. This means that Marvel is more than likely keeping the big Typhoid Mary beats under wraps until the season drops on Netflix in September.

However, today, the Twitter account of the Netflix series has released a new picture from Season 2, a picture that teases the arrival of Typhoid Mary. The photo features and hand-drawn portrait of the character, accompanied by a note that reads “Stay away from Danny Rand.”

In the comic books, Mary Walker has dissociative identity disorder, with three distinct personalities sharing her body: Mary, Typhoid and Bloody Mary. Since it was also confirmed that Mary will have multiple personalities on the television series, it appears as if the note she finds, as well as the drawing, is one that was left for her by one of her other personalities. But which? And why can’t Danny Rand be trusted?
Season 2 of Iron Fist is set to pit Danny Rand against his former friend and brother-in-arms, Davos. Assuming the identity of the Steel Serpent, Davos will set out to harness the power of the Iron Fist for himself. While the character is set to cross paths with Typhoid Mary, it’s as yet unclear how the two characters will intersect.
