Fans of Honest Trailers and Ryan Reynolds are in for a treat: There’s a bonus feature of sorts from Deadpool 2 that didn’t come from the Blu-ray release.
Reynolds, who’s famous for lampooning his own work in the much-maligned Green Lantern and is an expert at breaking the fourth wall, hijacked the Honest Trailer for Deadpool 2.
Using his signature method of skewering, well, pretty much everything, Reynolds’ tenure as the Honest Trailers narrator begins with mocking Disney and making a sidelong reference to his embattled costar T.J. Miller, and it only gets more meta from there. He jokes about other characters in Deadpool 2 that fans don’t care about, and even manages some product placement for the sequel’s home release. The popular Screen Junkies feature isn’t safe, either, getting a good-natured roasting from the star.

Reynolds has always been the key ingredient in the clever and often-unexpected marketing ploys behind the Deadpool franchise. While the sequel didn’t break the $132 million opening weekend of its predecessor, Deadpool 2 still seized a record of its own, claiming the title of the best-performing comedy sequel by pulling in a very respectable $125 million debut.
As Reynolds is quick to remind us in his Honest Trailer, Deadpool 2 is now available everywhere, in digital format and on Blu-ray.
