Chris Hardwick Returns to Host NBC’s The Wall

Chris Hardwick will be returning to NBC this fall.

A week after AMC announced Hardwick would be reinstated as the host of the Talking Dead, it has been confirmed he will also return as the host of NBC’s primetime game show The Wall. In addition, Hardwick will also appear as a guest judge on America’s Got Talent.

The move by NBC comes after AMC concluded its investigation into the host, after his ex-girlfriend, Chloe Dykstra, uploaded an essay to Medium alleging that an ex-boyfriend abused her. While Dykstra did not name the ex-boyfriend in her essay, instead referring to him as someone who went from “a mildly successful podcaster to a powerhouse CEO of his own company,” Hardwick was widely identified as the subject. He confirmed Dykstra was referring to him in her essay after releasing a denial of the allegations.

In the aftermath of the essay, Hardwick was pulled from his duties as a panel moderator at Comic-Con International in San Diego, and the season premiere of his other talk show (Talking with Chris Hardwick) was put on hold while AMC investigated the allegations. While NBC took no action against the host at that time, the network was monitoring the situation, and it appears it has decided to follow AMC’s decision to continue its relationship with Hardwick.

Hardwick has continually denied all allegations of sexual assault, though he has noted that his three-year relationship with Dykstra was not perfect.

The Wall will returns to NBC in the fall, although a premiere date has not yet been set.
