The short film anthology Modest Heroes has revealed a new teaser trailer that previews its ending theme!
Titled “Chiisana Eiyuu”, the song is performed by Japanese singer Kimura Kaela. Having been the entertainment business since 2002, she made her debut as a professional pop and rock singer in 2004. Since then, she has released 7 studio albums and 22 singles, the most popular of them being “Rirura Riruha” and “Butterfly.”
In regards to the theme song, Kimura commented, “The staff and I met many times over. We had to make sure that the song had a little bit of everything from the three shorts. I’d like to think that we’ve made something that’ll have everyone going home afterwards with a smile on their face.”
Modest Heroes will be the first project released under Studio Ponoc’s “Ponoc Short Films Theatre,” which will strive to focus on works that both adults and children can enjoy.
Each film in the upcoming anthology film has its own title and theme. Yonebayashi Hiromasa’s Kanini & Kanino focuses on the courage of two siblings; Momose Yoshiyuki’s Life Ain’t Gonna Lose focuses on the bonds between a mother and child; and Yamashita Akihiko’s Invisible takes a look into the struggles that just one individual can harbor.
Modest Heroes premieres in Japan on Aug. 24.
