Latest Ant-Man and the Wasp TV Spot Teases Connection to Avengers 4

Ant-Man and the Wasp will be different from your usual Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Where before, all of the previous movies were released in a linear manner, the Ant-Man sequel is actually the first to take place before the events of Avengers: Infinity War. In part, the film is set to explain why Scott Lang didn’t suit up with the rest of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to protect the world from the threat of Thanos.

For that reason, many believed that the film would have little to no effect on the overall narrative of the MCU and the events of Infinity War and the upcoming Avengers 4. However, that may not exactly be the case after all. Thanks to the latest television spot from Ant-Man and the Wasp, it appears that the sequel might actually be crucial to the next Avengers film.

The 30-second spot starts off on an ominous note, with Scott Lang revealing that he had a foreboding dream where he saw the end of everything. Considering that this revelation comes with quick flashes of the Quantum Realm, we can’t help but wonder if this has any ties to Thanos’ universe-altering finger snap, as well as the mysterious futures that Doctor Strange glimpsed.

On top of that, the voiceover from the TV spot plays up the Infinity War connection even more. “Before the war ends, our smallest hero becomes our biggest hope,” the voice says. The mentions of “war” are a clear reference to Infinity War, and the notion that its end is coming points to the Ant-Man film having an effect on Avengers 4. Finally, the fact that it mentions Scott becoming our biggest hope yet could also be very telling. Since we already know that Ant-Man will have an important role to play in Avengers 4, it appears that his heroic adventure to help the Avengers might start sooner than we had anticipated.

While Ant-Man and the Wasp appeared to be a smaller adventure before we head back into the cosmic war of Thanos, it now seems like its positioning in the Marvel release calendar wasn’t for naught. There is truly a larger plan at work here.
