This year’s summer edition of Wonder Festival, the world’s biggest figure festival, is set for Jul. 29!
As always, it will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. After recording 54,796 visitors at Wonder Festival 2018[Winter], the event is aiming for 56,000 visitors this time around.
Fans will be able to gain a glimpse of yet unreleased figures and garage kits from major companies, as well as enjoy the craftsmanship of individual creators, many of whom will be displaying original items that will not be sold anywhere else (or at all).
Among other aspects to look out for are the Wonder Showcase highlighting selected artists’ works, the Wanda-chan Next Door project revolving around one of the festival’s official mascots, 3D modelling events, demonstrations from creators and of course, cosplay.
This year’s official illustration features Wanda-chan and Reset-chan, Wonder Festival’s very own mascots, dressed in cute sailor uniform-inspired outfits. Fans can look forward to seeing more of them at the actual event.
Wonder Festival 2018[Summer] will be held at Makuhari Messe on Jul. 29 with an admission fee of 2,500 yen per person (includes guidebook, children of elementary school age or younger enter for free). For more information, visit the official website.
