DC Covers Girls Statue Line Debuts Catwoman By Joelle Jones


Eisner-nominated artist Joëlle Jones announced today at the DC Universe panel at C2E2 today that Catwoman is the latest addition to the popular DC Cover Girls statue line from DC Collectibles.

Sculpted by Jack Mathews from a design by Jones, the 9-inch statue depicts the cat burglar sitting confidently atop a safe that’s just waiting to be cracked. Priced at $125, the statue will arrive in stores in November.

No stranger to either Gotham City or the DC Cover Girls statue line, Jones is working on DC’s Batman with writer Tom King in the lead-up to the highly anticipated wedding of Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne. The two are set to finally tie the knot in Batman #50, which goes on sale in July. While working on the series, Jones designed Catwoman’s wedding dress, which debuted in the recently released Batman #44. A prelude to the Gotham nuptials that sees The Joker learn of Batman’s upcoming wedding is featured in DC Nation #0.

The DC Cover Girls statue line was launched in 2009, highlighting the women of the DC Universe, as designed by some of the industry’s top artists, including Adam Hughes and Stanley Lau, The first female designer to be showcased, Jones launched her collection in March with a Harley Quinn statue. Also previously announced as part of Jones’ collection are statues of Supergirl and Batgirl, set for release in April and August, respectively.

The DC Cover Girls Catwoman statue by Joëlle Jones is available for preorder beginning April 16.
