Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 Trailer Introduces Morgan

As fans of Fear the Walking Dead patiently await Season 4, AMC has unveiled a full trailer and promo art ahead of the show’s return.

Playing out as a prequel to the popular The Walking Dead, the first three seasons of Fear charted the immediate aftermath of the zombie outbreak and followed the Clark family. However, with Season 3’s dramatic showdown at the Gonzalez Dam, all bets are off for what happens next to Madison and her children. Fans do know that Season 4 will contain the highly anticipated crossover between both shows as The Walking Dead’s Lennie James picks up his stick and heads to Fear.

The network has been slowly teasing audiences with promos — including a look at James as Morgan Jones and a brief peek of Maggie Grace as Althea— but this is the first full trailer for the upcoming season. As you can tell, new showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg are upping the action this time around.

The trailer puts an extended focus on James, while the posters highlight the ensemble nature of the cast. Growing from the core Clark family of Season 1, Fear still puts Kim Dickens front and center as Madison, closely followed by James as Morgan and a closer look at Maggie Grace. Also featured prominently is Garret Dillahunt, who is a newcomer for Season 4. Described as a gunslinger, Dillahunt will play John Dorie and fit with this season’s Wild West theme.

Premiering in 2015, Fear the Walking Dead hasn’t reached the ratings, or pop-culture, heights of the original series. However, it has always remained a strong contender in the ratings battle.

While not directly based on Robert Kirman’s The Walking Dead comics, Fear runs parallel to the main series and has heavy involvement from Kirkman himself. The anticipation of Jones’ crossover has also opened the door to a much larger The Walking Dead universe, with Scott Gimple promising more spinoffs are coming. Also, as Morgan meets Madison, the rumor mill is swirling that other fan-favorite characters could soon swap shows too. With a proposed time jump for season 4 of Fear to possibly marry up with The Walking Dead‘s current timeframe, prepare for the two worlds to be closer than ever.
