The popular Netflix series will resume March 2 and the tension is rising following the events of last season. From the new trailer released, Team Voltron will be joining with Prince Lotor, son of Emperor Zarkon, to take on his father and the Galra army. Lotor turned on his resurrected father in Season 4, and fans can clearly see that Shiro, Keith, Pidge and the other Paladins that pilot the Voltron lions are second-guessing their decision to work with him in order to strengthen their rebellion.
The clip shows a now-expanded alliance, with Lotor bringing “one-third of the former Galra Empire” over to the cause. We also see Zarkon attempting to negotiate with the Paladins to return his traitorous son. Whatever decisions the heroes end up making, expect dire repercussions as Zarkon’s forces and the evil witch Haggard are expected to pull out all stops to retrieve Lotor and resume their grip on the cosmos.
Arriving March 2 on Netflix, Season 5 of Voltron: Legendary Defender stars Tyler Labine as Hunk, Jeremy Shada as Lance, Bex Taylor-Klaus as Pidge, Kimberly Brooks as Allura, Rhys Darby as Coran, Josh Keaton as Shiro, Steven Yeun as Keith and Neil Kaplan as Emperor Zarkon.
