BBC Worldwide Americas and Titan Comics have announced the launch of their brand new ongoing comic book series Doctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor. The comic series will, of course, follow the adventures of Jodie Whittaker’s version of the titular character Doctor Who.
Doctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor will be helmed by the all-female creative team of writer Jody Houser (Young Animal’s Mother Panic), artist Rachael Scott (The Twelfth Doctor) and colorist Enrica Angolini (Warhammer 40,000). The series is set to launch in the fall, where it will coincide with the start of Doctor Who‘s eleventh season.

While Whittaker’s 13th Doctor made her on-screen debut in the Christmas episode “Twice Upon A Time,” her screen time was very limited; beyond an introduction of the character, we didn’t get to see this new Doctor stretch her legs yet. Her full adventures are set to begin in the fall, where fans will get to follow her both on the screen, as well as on the comic book page.
Whittaker will be joined in the upcoming 11th season by Bradley Walsh (Law & Order: UK) as Graham, Tosin Cole (Hollyoaks) as Ryan and Mandip Gill (Hollyoaks) as Yasmin. At that time, Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) will succeed Steven Moffat as head writer and executive producer. The new season of Doctor Who is expected to debut in the fall.
