Legends of Tomorrow’s Routh Teases Fortress of Solitude

If an Instagram post by Brandon Routh is any indication, Superman’s Fortress of Solitude — or at least part of it — may be headed to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The photo finds Routh staring wistfully at a white crystalline structure with the caption “Something about this set is making me feel at home” and hashtags like “Fortress,” “Solitude” and “Crystals.”

Of course, Routh’s photo is far from a confirmation that the Fortress will appear in Legends of Tomorrow. It could simply be a play on Routh’s role as the Man of Steel in Superman Returns and the fact that the crystals look very similar to past incarnations of the Fortress. After all, Routh seems to be standing in a lab, not a massive alien structure.

Nevertheless, the show has set plenty of precedence for the Fortress to show up in the main Arrowverse. Rip Hunter mentioned “Men of Steel” and “Dark Knights” in the first season of the show, clearly referencing both Superman and Batman; just this season, two characters from the series visited Themyscira, Wonder Woman’s birthplace. As such, it certainly wouldn’t be out of place for the Legends to discover the Fortress or some part of it — even if they don’t see Superman while they’re at it.

Returning Monday, February 12, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom, Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Amaya Jiwe/Vixen, and Nick Zano as Nate Heywood/Steel.
