Glittering gems and gorgeous jewels are treasured by just about everyone (for obvious reasons), but a cafe in Kyoto is adding a whole new level of appeal you’ve probably never considered!
Sit down at the Usagi no Nedoko cafe and you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into a rather inviting museum! Surrounded by displays and pictures of artifacts like bones, plants, and materials, the strange and delightful menu items don’t seem so out of place!
Doesn’t look particularly edible, right? You’d be wrong and pleasantly surprised! This rock-like dessert is a strawberry-flavored tiramisu with amaretto jelly and a decadent berry sauce~
Chunks of amethyst seated on white stone? Nope! It’s actually a creamy, amethyst-inspired panna cotta dessert!
This impressive lapis lazuli lookalike is a gorgeous opera cake with realistic layers and a chocolate and buttercream topping that mimics fossilization.
Who knew marshmallow and chocolate could look like that?
Don’t be upset if you receive this romantic gift box! What looks like rusty limonite is actually rich cubes of creamy chocolate.
You’re thinking, “Seriously, can’t be a dessert,” right? One bite and you’d find that this is a stunning and sweet confectionery that melts away in your mouth!
Fossilized amber actually already looks kind of tasty, but these shimmering golden candies are meant to be eaten!
Top off your visit with a black cocoa cake that looks less like cake and more like dense black rock embedded with red gems!
Is your mouth starting to water from these amazing gem-like desserts? We don’t blame you! (Just don’t try snacking on the next rock you see. Save that curiosity for when you visit Usagi no Nedoko!)
Check out some of their other tantalizing menu items on their website.
