Be the Protagonist of Your Own Anime in “One Room” VR!

Enter the world of anime through VR in One Room! This crowdfunding project introduces Yui Hanasaka (voiced by M.A.O.), a high school girl who’s moved in next door to you.

This project is the sequel to the short One Room anime which aired in 2017, and the quality of smartphone VR is being pushed to its limits to create a VR anime that users can explore and touch. The domestic project on Campfire has already blown past its initial goal of one million yen, and now international backers can also support One Room through TOM Projects!

Romance blooms when Yui moves next door…

The anime features gorgeous illustrations by Kantoku-sensei ( A Sister’s All You Need, The “Hentai” Prince and the Stony Cat ) which have been transformed into vibrant 3DCG by Gugenka.

Igarashi Takuya, the main 3DCG artist of VR anime manufacturer Gugenka, is in charge of bringing Kantoku’s work to life. To get a glimpse of what’s to come, check out the PV below!

This project utilizes high-quality position tracking to turn you into the protagonist. You’ll also be able to utilize the touch screen of smartphones to move objects and interact with Yui in-game.

And where does Yui come in? Our adorable heroine may not be an exceptional student, but she’s diligent and moved to Tokyo from Hokkaido to prepare for her college entrance exams! Just imagine her knocking on your door and asking for your help studying…

The room itself is still under development, but take a peek at the basic design.

As a crowdfunded project, there are plenty of exciting stretch goals, as well, including an Apron Edition in which Yui’s always wearing an apron (which has already been reached!), a swimsuit edition, bonus dialogue, and a life-sized Yui AR figure.

Backers can also choose between a wide variety of courses that include rewards like clear files, VR goggles with special decoration stickers, a B2-sized tapestry, body pillow cover, your name in the VR app credits, a copy of the script, and even an original voice recording by M.A.O. for one super lucky backer.
