Ahmed noted in Marvel’s statement that, although his version of Valkyrie will not be the one from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “she’s basically the literalization of the larger-than-her-physical-frame swagger that Tessa Thompson displayed in Thor: Ragnarok, turned up to 11.”

Valkyrie will join Blink, Khan (a grizzled, old version of Kamala Khan), Wolvie (a chibi-style version of Wolverine) and Iron Lad in an effort to save the multiverse. Exiles #1, by Ahmed and artist Javier Rodriguez, will debut April 11 from Marvel Comics, followed two weeks later by Issue 2.
Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk and Anthony Hopkins as Odin. The film will be available on Digital HD on Feb. 20, before being released on Blu-ray and DVD on March 6.
