Writer David Goyer has indicated that the DC Extended Universe’s Green Lantern Corps film is still in development despite the recent Warner Bros. shakeup. Goyer, who is co-writing the movie with Justin Rhodes, emphasized the film is “in the works” but couldn’t indicate when another update on the movie’s development will be forthcoming.
“I don’t know. Who knows, especially with what’s currently going on with the DC universe?” he told IGN. “There’s obviously a whole recalibration happening with that right now,” he continued, referring to Walter Hamada replacing Jon Bergs and joining Geoff Johns as co-head of DC Films.

Rumors of changes have circulated since Justice League‘s disappointing performance, critically and financially. The fact that Warner Bros.’ updated slate of films didn’t include the Green Lantern Corps movie has also raised some red flags, particularly considering the fact that the film had initially eyed a 2020 release.
Fans were hoping for more news on the Green Lantern Corps, especially after they fought against Steppenwolf’s forces alongside the Amazons and Atlanteans in Justice League, but it appears they’ll have to wait a bit longer to see the green light on this project.
