Toji no Miko, an original anime project produced by Genco and animated by Studio Gokumi, has revealed a key visual as well as new characters! They also renewed their official site, which now features character bios including the names of their respective swords and fighting styles as well as illustrations by original character planner Shizuma Yoshinori.
Toji no Miko follows highly skilled swordswomen called Toji who fight off the aratama, supernatural creatures threatening the human world. Toji study in five schools located throughout the country, and the best of them compete with each other in the annual tournament.
Additional characters include:
Mashiko Kaoru, a first-year high school student at Osafune Girls’ Academy. She doesn’t speak much and generally finds things bothersome.
Kohagura Ellen, Koharu’s partner, a mood maker with an innocent personality. She has a Japanese father and an American mother.
Shido Maki, holder of the first seat of the Origami family’s elite guards and the winner of two consecutive sword fighting championships.
Korehana Suzuka, holder of the second seat of the Origami family’s elite guards. She views Maki, who beat her twice in the tournament, as her rival.
Satsuki Yomi, holder of the third seat of the Origami family’s elite guards. She has no notable accomplishments and her abilities are shrouded in mystery.
Tsubakuro Yume, holder of the fourth seat of the Origami family’s elite guards. Despite being the youngest member of the group, she’s a genius sword fighter surpassing even Maki. To her annoyance, she is rarely allowed to battle because of her childish personality corresponding to her age.
And last but not least, Origami Yukari, the head of the Origami family as well as Metropolitan Police Department’s Swordsman Bureau. She became a hero after defeating a huge aratama when leading a task force during a disaster at Sagami coast 20 years ago. Her powers have not weakened since and she remains the strongest Toji.
