With the start of the Fall season, Marvel’s Summer of Symbiotes is coming to an end. The seasonal event was intended to celebrate Venom’s 35th anniversary, and it’s certainly delivered in terms of spectacle. Cult of Carnage: Misery bonded Liz Allan to combined samples of Carnage and Anti-Venom, and introduced fans to the zany six-symbiote hybrid Madness. Bren Waters’ Toxin returned to the pages of Venom after an extended absence from comics. Carnage went on a tear across titles as his own ongoing comic came to an end. At the climax of it all, Death of the Venomverse by Cullen Bunn, Gerardo Sandoval, Jim Campbell, and Clayton Cowles pits a team of Venom variants against Carnage in a lethal interdimensional conflict.
