How to Watch Nope – Is the Jordan Peele Movie Streaming?

Nope is the newest film from director Jordan Peele, and audiences are already gasping in awe of it. The filmmaker has quite a reputation for genre-busting, silence-inducing movies and being somewhat similar to an early M. Night Shyamalan. And guaranteed to be one of the summer’s biggest hits, many can’t wait to say “yep” and go see Nope.

Of course, with how movies are released nowadays, some are unsure how to see the new movie. And since it’s not a Warner Bros. or Disney film, things are especially confusing. With the movie coming out in the next few days, here’s what audiences should expect from the upcoming Nope and how they can watch it.

What Is Jordan Peele’s Nope About?

The protagonists of Nope are OJ and Emerald Haywood, two siblings whose family ranch is in a small, isolated town. Without much in the way of frills or spectacle, their community gets when a mysterious flying object seems to invade the nearby airways. That results in all manner of strange events, as well as the death of the OJ and Emerald’s father.

Calling in “experts” in the form of security tech salesman Angel Torres and documentary filmmaker Antlers Holst, the two hope to uncover what’s going on in their town. The film will shock and surprise, and those who’ve seen it already are already giving it very positive reviews. This word of mouth will likely send audiences flocking to see the movie, but they might not have many options to do so.

Is Jordan Peele’s Nope Available to Stream?

When Nope premieres on July 22, it will only be available to watch in theaters. The Universal movie won’t be on Netflix, Hulu or the like for a while, but it will possibly be coming to another streaming platform in the near future. Universal movies have been coming to the Peacock streaming app 45 days after their initial release, especially in the case of films that might not have performed well at the box office. That’s likely to be the case for Nope, regardless of how well it does financially.

Thus, the soonest that Nope will be available to stream or purchase through video-on-demand is September 5. However, it’s guaranteed to not be later than November 18 if it follows the schedule of other Peacock releases. But it will be behind a paywall and available only for those with a premium Peacock account, which costs $5 a month. If viewers don’t want to wait that long, they should head out to see Nope in theaters when it premieres.

To see Jordan Peele’s latest film, Nope hits theaters July 22.
