The Flash’s “Search for Barry Allen” and the Dark Crisis: Young Justice miniseries release their second issues, heating up DC’s 2022 event.
DC Comics’ Dark Crisis event builds momentum with the release of The Flash and Young Justice tie-ins.
“The Search for Barry Allen” is on in The Flash #784 by writer Jeremy Adams and artist Amancay Nahuelpan. Flash Wally West and other members of the Flash Family are looking for the Scarlet Speedster throughout the Speed Force after he went missing in Infinite Frontier #6. In the Flash issue prior, they split into groups and discovered three different Barrys: one like Batman, another like someone out of Mad Max and the third stuck in a world similar to DC Comics’ Silver Age. Of course, Barry isn’t the only hero stuck in another reality during Dark Crisis.
While Wally searches for his mentor, Wonder Girl Cassie Sandsmark is out trying to find where her Young Justice teammates wound up. Robin (Tim Drake), Impulse (Bart Allen) and Superboy (Kon-El) are trapped in a DC Universe out of the late ’90s, discovering another Cassie similar to their own at the end of Dark Crisis: Young Justice #1. The six-issue miniseries promises readers a “Tale of Two Wonder Girls” in the upcoming Dark Crisis: Young Justice #2, with the team set to battle old villains, the Justice League and Teen Titans in future issues.
Other notable mentions for Tuesday are Artemis: Wanted #1 and DC vs. Vampires: All-Out War #1. The Wanted one-shot sees the axe-wielding Amazon on the run after killing former Amazonian Queen Hippolyta, Wonder Woman’s mother. Meanwhile, All-Out War is a three-issue miniseries where John Constantine, Deathstroke, Booster Gold, Mary Marvel and others go on a suicide mission to take out a key lieutenant in the vampire empire.
