One of the Marvel Universe’s more formidable foes reveals that even he is afraid of Moon Knight.
A preview for Moon Knight #13 finds the titular hero investigating an emerging vampire threat known as the Structure all while Tutor, the vampire collective’s leader, meets with Marvel’s deadliest assassin, Anthony “Tony” Masters aka Taskmaster. Tutor calls upon Taskmaster in the hopes of sending him after Marc Spector, but the villain makes it clear that Moon Knight is not a target he has any interest in taking aim at. According to Taskmaster, not only is he “dangerous,” but “Moon Knight’s on a different level.”
Taskmaster explains that he has been asked to bring down Moon Knight before by others far more aware of the hero’s decades-long history as an experienced killer. Apart from his time as both a Marine and government assassin, Marc Spector’s work as a freelance mercenary left him with little to no hesitation on the battlefield. Even with all of that under consideration, Taskmaster insists there is still something else that makes Moon Knight truly dangerous. Though it isn’t stated in the preview, Marc’s reputation as an unhinged, violent and often murderous breed of superhero could be another reason for why Taskmaster doesn’t want to be caught in a fight with him.

- The scars of Zodiac’s attack linger with the faithful of the Midnight Mission, but that doesn’t stop Moon Knight from picking an entirely new fight. A new arc begins as Moon Knight goes to war with the vampires of the Structure, but he finds it a battle on two fronts – one on the midnight streets, the other within his own mind!
- 32 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99
Moon Knight has made major attempts as of late to curb his more lethal tendencies, despite the best efforts of villains such as Zodiac to force Marc to cross that line. This general rule doesn’t seem to extend to some of the vampires that have been plaguing his neighborhood though, being that he is shown allowing some vampires to die from sunlight in the preview. While Moon Knight has ensured that no humans under his watch come to harm, he is more than willing to work with vampires like Reese, who has no intention of hunting down their next meal in the streets.
Taskmaster, or Tony, was first introduced to the Marvel Universe in the pages of 1980’s Avengers #195 by David Michelinie and George Pérez. Tony was born with the unique ability to replicate nearly any physical feat he witnessed someone else perform. This sense of photographic reflexes coupled with an experimental Super-Soldier Serum have culminated in someone who is a master of every single weapon and fighting style within his line of sight. As such, Taskmaster has become one of the world’s premier mercenary, taking on jobs ranging from otherwise ordinary assassinations to leading his own ragtag team of Thunderbolts through a symbiote apocalypse. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically 2021’s Black Widow, the Taskmaster identity is used by Antonia Dreykov, portrayed by both Olga Kurylenko and Andy Lister.
