Will Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Reva and Roken Appear in Andor?

Obi-Wan Kenobi has ended, but a few of its key characters could become essential players in Disney+’s upcoming Andor series based on the finale.

The following article contains spoilers for Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1, Episode 6, “Part VI,” now streaming on Disney+.

With the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars fans are preparing for the next Disney+ series. Andor will take place before Rogue One and focus on Cassian Andor as the Rebellion takes shape, and there is a lot of hope that it will be a political thriller. There’s also some speculation that two characters from Obi-Wan Kenobi — Reva and Roken — could move from that show into the cast of Andor.

Reva, aka the Third Sister, was an Inquisitor who worked for the Empire in Obi-Wan Kenobi. She hunted down and killed anyone the Empire wanted her to — but it was all to get her revenge on Darth Vader for Order 66. Roken was introduced as the leader of The Path, a network that worked to protect Jedi and other Force-sensitive people. Both these characters could very easily become instrumental in the formation of the Rebellion, which Andor is focusing on.

Reva found redemption at the end of her path. She faced a more sympathetic Darth Vader and was badly beaten, though Vader left her alive. When she went to take her anger out on Luke Skywalker, she realized what she had become. Reva spared Luke before Obi-Wan told her it was time to make a change. This redemption arc could come full circle if she appears in Andor. She guide Cassian on his path or warn him of the dangers of seeking vengeance. Even if she was only in one episode, her story could help shape Cassian and the Rebellion.

Roken is a leader born out of desperation and hardship. He understands the cruelty of the Empire and how they betrayed the Jedi. He knows that they care nothing for the innocent and will kill anyone who defies them — yet he stands tall and refuses to back down. Even when Darth Vader was going to kill his group, he didn’t want to sacrifice Obi-Wan. His strength and resolve could be a catalyst for many Rebel leaders. The Path could morph into the Rebellion with him leading their cell, or Cassian may have to use The Path to escape and meet Roken.

Both of these characters had an impact on Obi-Wan. They showed him the state of the galaxy and what the Empire was doing in his absence. Roken taught him that there are people who are fighting against oppression and standing up for the innocent still, filling the void that the Jedi left behind. Reva proved that even someone in their darkest place can still see the light. Obi-Wan was enveloped in darkness, but through the re-discovery of hope, he found his way back to the light. By continuing their journeys in Andor, Reva and Roken could inspire others.

Andor’s first teaser featured a very different side of the Rebellion. Their struggle against the Empire requires the help of many allies. Reva and Roken could be those allies. They could recruit and motivate people to fight back against the evil and become a part of something greater, which is what Star Wars has always been about.

Andor begins streaming Aug. 31 on Disney+.
