Bob’s Burgers Movie Reveals Home Release Dates, Super-Sized Bonus Features



20th Century Studios announced the at home release date for The Bob’s Burgers Movie, and revealed the film’s extensive list of bonus features.

Following its theatrical release, The Bob’s Burgers Movie will receive a super-sized selection of bonus features when it releases on Blu-ray and DVD. Among these bonus features are exclusive deleted scenes, animation extras, audio commentary from the cast and crew, including Bob’s Burgers creator Loren Bouchard, and a new short titled “My Butt Has a Fever” starring the Belcher children. The Bob’s Burgers Movie will release digitally on July 12, with a Blu-ray and DVD release scheduled for July 19.

Among the film’s bonus features is an audio commentary from the cast and crew, which includes cast members H. Jon Benjamin (Bob Belcher), John Roberts (Linda Belcher), Dan Mintz (Tina Belcher), Eugene Mirman (Gene Belcher), Kristen Schaal (Louise Belcher), as well as co-directors Bouchard and Bernard Derriman, writer Nora Smith and production designer Ruben Hickman. The Blu-ray and DVD bonus features also include a making-of featurette, wherein Bouchard discusses the process of turning his Emmy-winning animated television series into a movie.

Deleted Scenes & Much More

The Bob’s Burgers Movie home video release will also include two versions of the “My Butt Has a Fever” animated short, which was shown in a limited number of theaters. Along with the theatrical version, fans can also watch a behind-the-scenes animatic of the theatrical short, which sees the Belcher kids perform in a school talent show. Also included are three deleted scenes, “Metal Detector,” “Burning Piers,” and “Grover’s Office,” which come with commentary from Bouchard and Smith.

The Bob’s Burgers Movie also comes with a variety of animation extras, such as work-in-progress versions of several songs featured in the movie, like “Sunny Side Up Summer,” “Lucky Ducks,” David Wain’s performance of Grover’s song “Not That Evil,” and a work-in-progress animatic of the End Credits. Other animation extras offer a behind-the-scenes look at the progression of certain scenes from storyboard to animation, with commentary from Derriman. These scenes include “Linda Through the Pass-Through,” “Bob and Lina Go to The Bank,” and “Louis Grabs the Fuse.”

The Bob’s Burgers Movie follows the Belchers after a water main breaks and creates a sinkhole in front of Bob’s Burgers, blocking the entrance to the restaurant. While Bob and Linda try and keep their restaurant from shutting down, Tina, Louise and Gene venture out to solve a mystery that could save their family’s restaurant. The Bob’s Burgers Movie was announced in 2017 and was intended for a theatrical release in April 2021, though the production experienced significant delays due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It was recently announced that the animated musical comedy-mystery-adventure would premiere on HBO Max on July 12.

The Bob’s Burgers Movie will release on digital July 12 and on Blu-ray and DVD on July 19. The animated movie musical is also set to release as a 4K Ultra HD SteelBook® featuring custom artwork, which will be available exclusively at Best Buy.
