The credits for Ms. Marvel’s first episode mention Hailee Steinfeld’s makeup artist, suggesting that Kate Bishop could feature in the Disney+ series.
The credits of Ms. Marvel‘s first episode have fans speculating that a major Young Avengers character could make an appearance.
Spotted by Reddit user u/marvelous_aardvark, the credit crawl of Ms. Marvel Episode 1 “Generation Why” mentions “Makeup Artist to Ms. Steinfeld – Chris Milone.” Many fans have taken this to mean that Hailee Steinfeld, who played Kate Bishop in Hawkeye will, at some point, team up with the newly superpowered Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani). Steinfeld is not formally attached to the project and neither Marvel Studios nor Disney have addressed her name being included in Ms. Marvel’s credits.
Despite the excitement surrounding Kate Bishop’s possible return, it’s worth noting that Steinfeld’s name in the credit may simply be an error. Some fans believe the actor’s name to be a “copy-paste” mistake, suggesting that Hawkeye‘s credits were accidentally included in Ms. Marvel.
While Kamala Khan’s live-action debut is stuffed with references to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, the show has yet to hint at Hawkeye’s arrival. It’s currently unknown when fans can expect to next see Steinfeld pick up her bow and arrow. Hawkeye director and executive producer Rhys Thomas stated that while he’s pleased fans were so receptive to Kate Bishop, he’s unsure of when she’ll return to the MCU. “And it’s been great to see [Hailee Steinfeld’s] character embraced and sort of land so firmly in the MCU. I sincerely look forward to where that character goes next,” Thomas said.
Ms. Marvel chronicles the origin story of Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teenager living in New Jersey. After obtaining a strange bracelet, the Avengers superfan is granted powers of her own. Using her newfound ability to generate crystalline constructs, Kamala sets out on a journey to achieve her dream of being a superhero while also juggling her responsibilities to her friends and overprotective family.
Vellani, who is herself a major fan of the MCU, recently teased all the information she’s privy to now that she’s formally a part of the ever-growing franchise. “I know secrets. I know secrets,” Vellani said. “Well, I’d like to think that I know secrets. I don’t know how much they’re, like, humoring me. But I think I know secrets.” Despite her knowledge, the star has yet to publically address the rumors surrounding Kate Bishop’s appearance.
Ms. Marvel is now streaming on Disney+ with new episodes released every Wednesday.
