Most of the time, TV protagonists are faced with challenge after challenge. Audiences are often left wondering if anything will ever work out for their favorite characters. Sometimes though, everything seems to go well for the main characters. This doesn’t occur often because if everything went right all the time, it wouldn’t be a very interesting show.
However, when things go right for that fan-favorite character, it feels like a victory. Whether viewers have been rooting for the protagonist to get their happily ever after or they are wonderfully surprised by the ending, sometimes things just work out in the favor of the protagonist.
10 Jane Got Her Happy Ending (Jane The Virgin)
Jane from CW’s Jane The Virgin has gone through plenty in her young life. After being accidentally inseminated and getting pregnant, Jane The Virgin sees Jane juggle her romantic relationships, her family, and her career as an author.
However, after five seasons and plenty of tragedy – including believing her first husband, Michael, was dead -Jane finally gets the happy ending she deserves when she marries Rafael in a beautiful ceremony officiated by her grandmother. Audiences learn the ending of Jane’s new novel and who the mysterious narrator has been. Overall, it was a great ending to a juicy show.
9 Oliver Queen Saved The Universe (Arrow)
Oliver Queen fought as the Green Arrow in Star City for years. Before that, he had struggled to survive after being shipwrecked on a deserted island in the South China Sea. Oliver has endured heartbreak and in loss nearly every season of Arrow.
However, the one constant light in his life was his family: his wife, Felicity, his son, William, and his daughter, Mia. When he is called to save the universe, he gives his life to do so. In the end, Oliver is reunited with Felicity in the afterlife where they can watch their children grow and be safe. It might not have been the happy ending fans were expecting, but it was perfect peace for Oliver.
8 Bran Stark Became King (Game Of Thrones)
Fans of Game Of Thrones watched Bran Stark as he was pushed out of a tower, struggling with his resulting paralysis. He was forced to flee his family home and live North of The Wall while training to be the next Three-Eyed Raven.
Bran has had his fair share of misery, but perhaps this Greenseer saw that it would be worth it. Many fans and characters were surprised when Bran was crowned King of Westeros. His sister, Sansa, became Queen of the North, Jon went beyond the wall with the Wildlings, and Arya traveled the world. The Stark Family all ended up where they belonged.
7 The Eleventh Doctor Was Reunited With His Best Friend (Doctor Who)
Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor in the BBC hit show Doctor Who has been a favorite among viewers for his energy and moments of serene wisdom. When his time as The Doctor came to an end, fans hoped that his ending would do him justice. As The Doctor began his regeneration process in the TARDIS in front of Clara (Jenna Coleman), his speech brings audiences to tears as he reflects on his time as The Doctor.
In a wonderful moment, Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) reunites with Rory and helps The Doctor take the last step. This was the best way to send off the Eleventh Doctor – he saved the universe and saw his best friend again.
6 Chuck Marries Sarah Walker (Chuck)
Throughout the five seasons of Chuck, Chuck had two goals in mind: remove the Intersect from his brain and get Sarah Walker to fall in love with him. While there were many touch-and-go moments, Chuck eventually got everything he wanted.
At the end of season four, Chuck marries Sarah Walker in front of all of their friends and family, they decide to give up the spy life together, and they inherit a billion dollars. While Chuck still has to deal with the Intersect, he uses this to help uncover the conspiracy surrounding him and his role in the CIA. Overall, Chuck got everything he could have asked for and more.
5 Emma Swan Found Her Family (Once Upon A Time)
As an orphan, Emma Swan always determined to find the family who gave her up almost thirty years ago. Then, the son Emma gave up for adoption shows up at her front door and claims that her parents live in his town, Storybrooke, and that they are Snow White and Prince Charming.
Emma gets sucked into the world of Storybrooke and the Enchanted Forest, discovering that everything her son said was true. After six seasons of Once Upon A Time, Emma has her parents, her son, her brother, close friends, and her husband, Killian. Emma Swan went to find her parents and got so much more.
4 John B Watched Justice Unfold (Outer Banks)
While Netflix’s Outer Banks is currently in production for season three, season two brought some great moments. When it seems like John B will be killed while awaiting trial in jail, he gets released with all charges dropped.
Authorities go after Ward and Rafe Cameron, the ones really behind the crimes that John B was blamed for. Rafe is arrested and put in jail while Ward tries to outrun authorities on his yacht before he decides to confess to everything. Although it was a shocking moment, John B got the justice he deserved.
3 Claire And Jamie Found Each Other (Outlander)
Jamie and Claire Fraser will probably never have the quiet life that fans so desperately want them to have. However, there are a few times when everything works out in their favor, despite the hardships they endure. In season three of Outlander, after being separated for twenty years by time and space, Claire travels back to the past to find Jamie.
When Claire finds Jamie at his print shop in Edinburgh, their reunion is filled with kisses and tears as they vow to never be apart from one another ever again. This moment is a fan favorite in both the show and the books, and reminds viewers that happiness is possible – even in Outlander.

After being hunted for her power for centuries and across continents, Diana Bishop finds and repairs the manuscript that will reveal to her the secret of how creatures (witches, vampires, and daemons) can survive. Appointed to the highest creature court by her brother-in-law, Diana reveals that creatures need to intermingle to survive.
This reveal saves her relationship with her vampire husband, Matthew, and their children. Diana and Matthew come together stronger than ever and help pave the way for a new world, concluding A Discovery Of Witches.
1 Bloom Made Friends That Turned Into Family (Fate: The Winx Saga)
In Fate: The Winx Saga, Bloom began her journey. She had no knowledge that she was a fairy or that another world beyond the one she knew existed. Keeping the secret from her human parents was hurting her, and balancing her two lives left Bloom in-between realms.
At the end of season one, with Rosalind believed to have been defeated, Bloom rekindles her relationship with Sky and brings her best friends to meet her human parents. She tells her parents the truth, feeling like she can finally have both her fairy and human lives without choosing one over the other.
