The Sons of Anarchy Declare War on the Mayans M.C.


The latest episode of Mayans M.C. sees the Sons of Anarchy declaring war on the titular club due to the disappearance of a key member.

WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Mayans M.C. Season 4, Episode 4, “A Crow Flew By,” which aired Tuesday on FX.The latest episode of Mayans M.C. Season 4, “A Crow Flew By,” officially kicks of the titular club’s war with the Sons of Anarchy — even if they don’t know it yet.

In the second episode of Mayans M.C. Season 4, “Hymn Among the Ruins,” Sons of Anarchy member Terry made clear he wanted to take advantage of the club’s weakened state and attack, especially since the Mayans had violated their territory. However, the other members of the Sons of Anarchy brushed him off. Towards the end of the episode, though, Jess — a bartender for the Santo Padre Mayans — brought him the kutte of Allessandro Montez, a Sons of Anarchy Road Captain killed in Season 3. Jess found the kutte in a barrel outside the Santo Padre clubhouse.

This will effectively kick off a war between the Sons of Anarchy and the Mayans M.C.. Still, the Mayans don’t yet know the Sons of Anarchy are about to attack them. At this time, Terry seemingly wants to do the deed at a ceremony honoring the Mayans M.C.’s dead.

Co-created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, Mayans M.C. primarily follows the members of the titular motorcycle club’s Santo Padre chapter. The show, which premiered in 2018, is set more than two years after the end of Sons of Anarchy and has featured a number of high-profile cameos and appearances from characters that originated on that show.

The show followed the Charming chapter of the titular motorcycle club, specifically Jax Teller, the son of one of the group’s original founders. Initially, the Mayans M.C. were enemies of the Sons of Anarchy, but over time, the two clubs repaired their relationship and have since had a tenuous peace.

New episodes of Mayans M.C. air Tuesdays on FX. The fifth episode of Season 4, “Death of the Virgin,” releases on May 10.
