The 8 Fastest Avengers, Ranked

Every cape fan knows that the Justice League is never short on speedsters. In fact, thanks to the Flash family, there’s basically one for every super-team from the Justice League and the Titans to Young Justice. But like with everything superhero-related, the Marvel Universe is never outdone when it comes to superpowers. And there are actually plenty of heroes that can move faster than any human can see.

In the Marvel Universe, the Avengers take up most of the speedsters. Their powers range from being fast enough to outrun a car to being faster than light and being able to traverse star systems.

8 3-D Man Is Capable of Running Over 100 Miles Per Hour

Delroy Garrett became Triathlon after gaining powers thanks to the Triune Understanding. He eventually joined the Avengers after several of their missions went poorly, as he was meant to help their public relations look a bit better. Delroy would eventually go back to calling himself 3-D Man, as that’s where his powers came from in the first place.

As someone who’s got the abilities of three times any peak human, 3-D Man has a host of powers that include super-speed, reflexes, and stamina. At top speed, he’s capable of running at over 100 miles per hour.

7 Speed Can Run At Around Mach One

Tommy Shepherd was a founding member of the Young Avengers, and he’s meant to have powers similar to Quicksilver. Much like Quicksilver back in the day, his top speed is around Mach 1, which is pretty slow in the grand scheme of superheroes.

But Speed’s benefit isn’t just in being fast, he’s also got super-strength to rely on to balance out his speed. It also helps that he’s still growing, and thus could very well come out becoming much faster in the future as he continues to develop his abilities.

6 Quicksilver Can Move At Speeds In Excess Of Mach Four & Five

Pietro has been a member of the Avengers since the second era of the team, after the founding Avengers all left the team. Joining the group alongside Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye, Pietro’s speed made him a powerful member of the team. At the time, his top speed wasn’t even 200 miles per hour, which would’ve made him quite the slow “speedster.”

However, since then the character has received a power boost which allows him to achieve between Mach 4 and Mach 5 when he wants to. He’s used this incredible ability to run across half the planet in just over ninety seconds once before.

5 Blue Marvel Can Fly Fast Enough To Escape The Earth’s Atmosphere

Adam Brashear was turned into a living anti-matter reactor thanks to an experiment gone wrong. This experiment granted him massively slowed aging as well as incredible super-strength and the ability to fire energy made of pure anti-matter.

Of course, Blue Marvel isn’t known for his speed but for his other abilities. Still, his speed is ranked at Class 50, which means he’s capable of flight and escaping the Earth’s atmosphere unaided by his own speed. He’s faster than most people could even dream of being, but he doesn’t compete with the heavyweight heroes.

4 Captain Marvel Is One Of The Fastest Marvel Heroes Not Made Of Pure Energy

Carol Danvers has been a member of the Avengers off and on for decades. When she was Ms. Marvel and Binary, she was one of the power-house members of the team. Though her Binary form is a transformation that she has to have help to reach, it still makes her one of the most powerful members the Avengers have ever had.

In terms of speed, she isn’t quite up to the level of the fastest members. She ranks at Class 50, placing her at the ability to reach escape velocity but not much further. Considering she isn’t made of pure energy like the ones who can though, this isn’t a surprising limitation.

3 Spectrum Is Capable Of Moving At Light Speed When Needed

Monica Rambeau started her superhero career as Captain Marvel. And under that identity, she became a member of the Avengers for several years. She worked with the team throughout the ‘80s and developed a stronger control over her powers. She mastered her energy form, which allows her to transform herself into multiple types of energies across the electromagnetic spectrum.

She also received a massive power-up thanks to her friend, Adam Brashear. Her speed is ranked at Class 60, which means she can move at the speed of light when necessary. Though she’s not the fastest Avenger, she’s still ranking towards the high end in terms of speed, and most other stats outside raw strength.

2 Quasar Can Travel Across Star Systems

Wendell Vaughn was granted the Quantum Bands, making him the Protector of the Universe. After being trained by SHIELD, Quasar found his way into the Avengers. He was a major part of the team during the Kree/Shi’ar War, but the events of that war caused him to quit the team.

Still, with his powers, he’s able to transform into pure energy whenever he wants to. Because of that level of power, he’s one of the fastest people in the universe. His speed is ranked at Class 70, which means he’s capable of moving at light speed.

1 Sentry Can Move At Speeds In Excess Of Light Speed

The Sentry is basically a fan-fiction character. He’s good at everything. He’s at or near the top in every area a superhero can be powerful in. The Golden Sentry Serum essentially turned him into Superman, as he’s capable of running off of the sun’s energy.

It’s not terribly surprising that he has such a ridiculous limitation in having to share his body with the Void, because otherwise he could simply re-shape reality and get the Avengers out of every problem. Naturally, he can move faster than the speed of light.
