Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac is keen for the Fist of Khonshu to go head-to-head with his comic book arch-enemy Bushman in a future MCU outing.
Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac wants the Fist of Khonshu’s comic book nemesis Bushman to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Isaac expressed interest in seeing the supervillain brought to life on screen in a recent interview with ComicBook.com. “Yeah, I mean, look, the Bushman saga, that whole thing was pretty amazing,” he said. “You can’t beat cutting off someone’s face and then surviving. I mean, that’s a pretty good villain’s backstory. Yeah, that’s amazing.”
Isaac’s comments regarding a live-action version of Bushman reflect his general enthusiasm for trying new things within the MCU. The actor revealed he attempted to become the first person to drop an F-bomb in the sprawling superhero universe. “I did a lot of takes where I actually say, ‘Oh, f–k’ and I thought, in Disney, because it’s TV or whatever, that you get one F-bomb. But ultimately, not even one. We don’t even get the one, so we had to change it,” Isaac said.
Isaac previously opened up about adjusting the way he played Moon Knight and his dual characters Marc Spector and Steven Grant midway through shooting. The star admitted that he initially asked to film all of Marc’s material separately from Steven’s, only to become more confident jumping between the two alters later on. “As I got more comfortable and I really got a handle on both characters, it became easier to switch in-between the two, even in the same moment,” Isaac recalled.
But while Isaac found his feet over the course of shooting Moon Knight, fans had the rug pulled out from under their own courtesy of the fourth episode’s twist ending. The episode’s co-director Aaron Moorhead explained this shocking finale “came from wanting to do the least expected thing and completely disorient the audience, while also being completely true to the character that we’ve built over four episodes.”
Executive producer Grant Curtis promised that Moon Knight‘s final two episodes will continue to blow fans’ minds. “There’s a whole world of Moon Knight’s history that you have not been able to watch in those first four episodes that you will in the last two. Big fans of the comics who do know his history are going to be happy,” Curtis added.
Moon Knight is currently streaming on Disney+, with new episodes arriving on Wednesdays.
