Fans of Blade Runner won’t have to wait long to return to the neon-lit streets of future Los Angels, as the new Blade Runner: The Roleplaying Game is set to release this fall and already has pitch-perfect art to tease fans.

As reported in Polygon, Blade Runner: The Roleplaying Game comes out this fall, but first, it’s seeking crowdfunding help with a Kickstarter launching on May 3. As part of the announcement, the developer of the Blade Runner RPG released artwork and a full three-page spread from the core rulebook. The artwork provided can be seen down below.

Developed by Free League, this officially licensed Blade Runner game is set between the events of the original film starring Harrison Ford and its sequel, Blade Runner 2049. According to the news release, the story begins “shortly after the Wallace Corporation debuts the new Nexus-9 Replicants on Earth, giving players a choice to play as either human or Replicant Blade runners with different specialties, personalities, and memories.”

Martin Grip is in charge of the art design. His distinctive design has brought to life other games from Free League, such as the critically acclaimed Symbaroum. Free League has been in charge of making multiple TTRPGs over the years, including Tales from the Loop, The One Ring and the Alien TTRPG. Free League’s usual Kickstarter template suggests players can expect the campaign to include a deluxe starter kit along with everything else you’ll need to start the game, similarly to its wildly successful The One Ring Kickstarter a few years ago.

Free League’s Blade Runner: The Roleplaying Game was first announced last year as part of the celebration of 40 years since the release of the original Blade Runner film. According to game director Tomas Härenstam, the creators of the game approached the project with a great deal of passion for the world. “It is important for us to fully capture the Blade Runner experience and themes from all perspectives – even the city,” he said. “One of the most fascinating characterizations in Blade Runner is Los Angeles itself, and we want LA to act and react differently based upon your character, specialties, and agenda.”

While Blade Runner: The Roleplaying Game’s Kickstarter is set for May 3, an exact release date this fall has yet to be announced. Until then, fans might enjoy watching or rewatching Blade Runner 2049, which is now streaming on Netflix.
