Inu-Oh will have its French premiere on January 27, 2022 at the Angoulême International Comics Festival, which will also host an art exhibition dedicated to Yuasa’s works from January 27 to 30, 2022.
Inspired by a novel by Hideo Furukawa and set in the 14th century Muromachi period, Inu-Oh follows a talented musician of the same name. Ostracized by society because of his unique physical features, he takes great pains to keep them hidden. However, his life changes after he meets a blind biwa player named Tomona and discovers the ability to dance through her music.
The film features a script by Akiko Nogi, original character design by Taiyo Matsumoto, and music by Yoshihide Otomo.
Inu-Oh opens in Japan in summer 2022.
